For as much as our Piedmont rivers have been washed out this Spring and Summer the tides have turned, and for the last month have been absolutely beautiful.  Largemouth Bass and actively moving about seeking to fatten up for the Winter. I’ve got just about every bait known to mankind and probably could have used something worked faster but creature baits are just plain fun to fish. When lightly weighted that can be fished at a decent bait. An 1/8th oz 1/0 weighted jighead hook paired to a 3″ Yum Wooly Hawg Craw will get bit anytime of the year. The fish wore one out and it but I had a backup that lasted another few hours. Although you won’t typically find large Bass in this shallow flow numbers ensure a good time.

Thanks Mr. River and Mr. Bass, it was good to hang out again!
